Certified by the Colorado School of Mines Geology. This is a genuine wedge of dinosaur bone, from the Morrison Formation. The fluvial (stream-deposited) sediments of the Morrison Formation dominated the Upper Jurassic landscape of eastern Utah. Originating approximately 150 million years ago as floodplain deposits, the Morrison Formation is exposed throughout the Colorado Plateau, including Colorado, Wyoming, eastern Utah, northern New Mexico, parts of Montana and South Dakota, and the panhandle of Oklahoma.

The bone wedge weighs about 1 lb 8oz. And is about 5.75 inches across at the widest measurement x 4.25 inches x 1.75 inches deep. The marrow pattern is distinct on both sides with a rind pattern along the back. A truly unique and attractive solid specimen and it is completely natural with no coatings.
