A stunning piece, either for display, or to cut for cabochons- it is thick enough for a jewelry piece or two, and still have the grand skin texture and curve of the vertebrae for a display piece. That's one way to cut it, but the other way could yield more cabs and also an even more awesome cell pattern, still leaving the distinct curve and vertebrae point. Front - smooth cut face - the predominance of oranges, reds, and some crystal cells make up most of the piece.
Big, bold, diverse cell shapes and sizes make the color and patterns stand out even when dry. The edges show a different pattern and cell structure, with light grey, crystal and some magenta cells.
Back of the piece - very nice colorful skin, red, rust, grey, tan. The Bottom exhibits the classic vert curvature and point. Top - rough, red skin with a bit of white. Has a triangular shape - 3 inches base/cut side, 2 1/2 inches left edge X 2 inches right edge. 1/4 to 1 1/2 inches thick at point. Bottom - gently curved with red and white cells and fine crystals. 4 inches wide X 1/4 inche on ends and predominately 1 1/8 tall for the rest of it.
